Color Exploration in
3D Environments

This assignment supplemented a series of lectures regarding color studies in environmental graphics. In addition to the basic principles of color, discussion was pushed further into how color can have a different impact in environmental graphics. How contrast in flooring can help drive or deter traffic. How the colors of an environment, the lighting, and materials have an impact on how graphics are perceived.

These students were new to the 3D software, this was one of the first renderings they completed.

 

 Color Relationship Assignment

You will accomplish the following:
Compile 5 different color schemes based on the 6 relationships
discussed in class:

  1. Monochromatic

  2. Complementary

  3. Split-Complementary

  4. Tetradic

  5. Analogous

  6. Triadic

Design a 10 foot by 10 foot linear booth with a height of 8 feet.

  1. Follow the Tradeshow Rules & Regulations pdf posted on D2L for any specific questions about booth requirements.

  2. Your booth should be created for “Your Company”

    • The purpose of this assignment is to experiment with color. You should not be distracted by a companies previously determined identity. The booth should be identified as “Your Company”

  3.  The booth should contain a hierarchy of signage.

  4. The booth should follow standard regulation as found in the Trade Show Rules & Regulations guide.

  5. Utilize formZ to model, map, and render your booth.

  6. The color schemes should be applied to your booth using the
    3D rendering software.
